Shower Caddy: Convenience in the Bathroom

Sometimes we get in a situation where we just don’t have enough room in our showers. At this point, it is time to make use one of the old but ever-evolving shower organizer: the shower caddy or bathroom caddy. Just in case you don’t know, a shower caddy is a contraption that hangs in your shower and holds your soap, shampoo, washcloth, razors or whatever else you need to keep in there. It is the ultimate in shower accessories.  Shower caddies are so convenient, especially when you don’t have many if any built in shower shelves or racks and other natural resting spots in your shower. I don’t know what I would do without mine. I think I’d have to leave a lot of stuff sitting outside on the ground. Or I might have to just not bathe anymore! (Just kidding.)

When getting a shower caddy you’ve got to consider just exactly how much room you have. If you have a lot, my preference is to get a multi-level caddy. I know that some people will want to keep it as much out of their way as possible, but I just like to be able to have room to store whatever I want. If I get some more products then I won’t have to get a new caddy, but to each her own.

I also think that it’s worth matching the color if possible. I know that most of our guests aren’t going to take a peek in the shower, but it’s still nice to have a matching bathroom if possible. So when I buy a shower caddy I check out the colors that are on display. There are always white ones, but sometimes there will be light green or blue. It’s good to have different options like this. My favorite is the stainless steel shower caddy, they go with everything!

The last thing to consider is whether you want a plastic container shower caddy or a shelf type shower caddy. If you have items that you need to protect from overexposure to water, then you can get one that has a zipping plastic top. It’s clear so you can still see into there and get what you need out of it. Most people just simply get the “wire” shelving. This type of shower caddy will suit almost everyone’s needs for an extra place to stick shampoos, conditioners, and the like.

In terms of price, you can pretty much pay as little as you want. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to manufacture the shower caddies, and they can just be shipped from all over the world via the Internet, so you won’t put a hole in your pocket at all making this little but practical improvement to your bathroom.
